RootsMagic Acquires Personal Historian
July 1, 2005
RootsMagic has acquired Personal Historian from Blue Scroll Software.
SPRINGVILLE, Utah, July 1, 2005 - RootsMagic, Inc., a leader in family history software, today announced that it has acquired Personal Historian software from Blue Scroll Software of Ogden, Utah. Personal Historian is Windows software which assists users in writing personal histories about themselves and others.
In addition, Michael T. Booth, president of Blue Scroll Software, will join RootsMagic as Vice President of Product Development. “We are excited to have Mike join the RootsMagic family,” said RootsMagic president Bruce Buzbee. “He brings with him a wealth of creative talent, and an excellent vision of the family history market.”
Personal Historian breaks the task of writing a personal history into small, manageable pieces, and then reconstructs it into a complete, publishable document. An interactive timeline gives you a visual overview of the person’s life, while powerful filters let you see and publish only the topics that you’re interested in.
“Our goal as a company is to create easy to use software that helps people preserve and share details of their life and family,” Mr. Buzbee stated. “Personal Historian is a perfect fit for the RootsMagic product line”.
