PhpGedView 4.0 beta 1

PhpGedView 4.0 beta 1 is now available. The 4.0-branch has been available for several weeks now, but only in source-code format. This is a major revision of the PhpGedView. PhpGedView is an online genealogy application.
PhpGedView parses GEDCOM 5.5 genealogy files and displays them on the internet in formats and charts that you are familiar with. It also allows relatives to edit their genealogy online and collaborate together on their research.

* Faster calendar and date functions
* Enhanced user management
* Improved administration and configuration changes
* New Daitch-Mokotoff Soundex search
* Many new editing options including a much improved Quick Update form

Legacy Family Tree and “Fake Family”

As a follow-up to a story yesterday about software that would allow advertisers to create fake family trees, the Deseret News has a new article up, that mentions an interesting bit of news:
In turn, makers of the Legacy Family Tree software threatened to sue Harrold if he did not remove from his Web site instructions about how to download free software from them that could assist the Fake Family program.
Passage Express 2.1.03 (Alpha)

Passage Express, the Windows multimedia presentation software for genealogists, has been updated to version 2.1.03 (Alpha). This release is geared towards enhancements.
