HtmlPedigree 1.28.1.0

September 8, 2005

Chris Phillips has released HtmlPedigree 1.28.1.0. HTMLPedigree is a Windows application that takes a standard GEDCOM file and produces HTML pages from it. These pages are links/cross-referenced, and an interactive pedigree chart is generated as well. A search feature is built into the generated code - you can try out the search feature here. HtmlPedigree is $25, however there is a free trial version you can use to make sure that you want to buy it (and that your machine can handle it).

Example Web Site

HTMLPedigree requires Windows 95+ or Windows NT 4.0+

Updates:

    1. An error introduced in version 1.28.0.0, affecting the link to the search facility, was corrected.
    2. When processing multimedia files linked in the GEDCOM file, comparisons of filenames are now case-insensitive, to avoid unnecessary creation of duplicate files.
    3. An error introduced in version 1.28.0.0, affecting the text displayed when the cursor hovers over arrows in the chart pedigree, was corrected.

Second Site 1.9 (Preview Release)

August 30, 2005

This is from a few weeks ago, but if your using Second Site you will probably be interested. There is a version 1.9 “Preview Release”

To see the changes in 1.9, you can view the author’s chang log. The Change Log has more than 40 entries. Truth be told, most of the changes are relatively small, but most were requested by Second Site users so there is a good chance you’ll like some of them.
