The Next Generation of Genealogy Sitebuilding v5.0.8

Yesterday saw The Next Generation of Genealogy Sitebuilding v5.0.8 released. Version 5.0.8 is mainly a bug fix release.

The Next Generation of Genealogy Sitebuilding© (“TNG”) is a powerful way to manage and display your genealogy data on the Internet, all without generating a single page of HTML. Instead, your information is stored in MySQL database tables and dynamically displayed in attractive fashion with PHP (a scripting language).

Developer’s Notes:
* As mentioned in there, the one small change in text.php means that if you support other languages, you should get the updates for those languages as well. The new message has been inserted (in English) into all the respective text.php files. If any of you speak those languages and can translate that message (“Chart width”) for me, that would be great.
* If you downloaded the French full version of 5.0.7, you can use the English 5.0.8 upgrade to get your code current, then get the French language packet for the new text message.

Updates:

-Minor formatting corrections were made on a few pages (Statistics, Descendancy, Show Log).
-Using Admin/Edit Photo to update a photo record was wiping out the Last Modified date (fixed in 5.0.6, reintroduced, fixed again).
-Branch labels were not always being set correctly in the families table (fixed).
-The phrase “Chart Width” on the Timeline chart was hard-coded in English (fixed; requires translation in text.php for other languages).
-The individual headstone page had invalid links on the tab bar (fixed).
-Names were not being displayed correctly for anonymous users on the Browse Documents page (fixed).
-After creating a new tree, corresponding entry in the Admin Change Log was incorrect (fixed).
-Searching for Death Year/Place in the Advanced Search was not working (fixed).
-Adding a new Branch immediately after deleting one resulted in the new branch being malformed (fixed).
-Some citations linked to notes were not being displayed. The same citations were not being exported when creating a GEDCOM file (fixed).
-If the “Number of new photo & history links” setting was blank, no new photo or history links were allowed to be created for an existing item (fixed).
-Deleting a photo by checking the box next to that photo and then clicking “Delete Selected” did not remove the physical file (fixed).
-Linking a source to a photo did not work if the source title contained an apostrophe (fixed).
-Branch relabeling was not working under some circumstances (fixed).
-Repository Call Numbers were not being imported properly (fixed).
-Some versions of MySQL will not accept blanks in true date fields (TNG now writes out “0000-00-00” instead).
-Merging individuals who each had a spouse was causing one spouse to be dropped (fixed).
-Merging individuals who each had the same spouse and the same children (in two different families) was resulting in an orphaned record in the tng_children table (fixed).
