There is a PhpGedView “Version 4.0 snapshot” CVS available. There are currently no release notes (you can download it from here). This is the second CVS snapshot that’s been made available (the first was at the beginning of October). PhpGedView parses GEDCOM 5.5 genealogy files and displays them on the internet in formats and charts that you are familiar with. It also allows relatives to edit their genealogy online and collaborate together on their research.
Since it’s a major version change, 3.3.x -> 4.0 or 3.3.x -> 3.4, it’s safe to assume that this will be a major update to PhpGedView.
One of the things mentioned in the PhpGedView forums is some kind of new “media features” – beyond that we are unsure of changes and additions.
Keep in mind this is a development version of PhpGedView – it’s our advice that you do not use this in a “production” environment, because you risk problems cropping up (and you don’t want to put your family through beta testing). Instead, if you want to help with the bug reporting/feature suggestions, you should probably set this up with it’s own database/directory/etc.
